The Role

This is a high visibility and hands-on role designed for a financial business leader who is an expert in GAAP financial reporting and accounting. This position is responsible for establishing and implementing a financial reporting infrastructure to support the GAAP financial reporting requirements of the company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Analysis of financial results on a GAAP basis – including working with various areas such as risk/actuarial, investment accounting, operations etc.
  • All financial filings due to the SEC and other regulatory bodies (including separate accounts).
  • Assist in the development of monthly management information, including input to relevant product level analysis on a gross and ceded basis
  • Ownership of controls and overall risk assessments required under Sarbanes-Oxley and Model Audit Rule, as applicable
  • Co-ordination with Treasury and Investment managers
  • Monitoring changes in GAAP accounting principles and recommendation on approach for the Company.  Implementation of changes where required

Your Experience

  • Significant experience (3 to 8 years) in life insurance accounting on a GAAP basis
  • Project management experience advantageous
  • CPA preferred
